Meningitis Trust

The Meningitis Trust is the UK’s primary provider of professional services and community-based support for people affected by meningitis. The Register of Playwork Professionals is an independent public Register which aims to support playworkers and provide assurance to both employers and the general public that those on the Register are qualified to do their job.
The Register will:
• Provide individuals working in the playwork sector with a system of regulation, ensuring that they meet agreed National Occupational Standards (NOS), which outline the knowledge, competence and skills of good practice
• Recognise the appropriate qualifications and expertise of individuals
• Provide assurance to consumers and employers that all registered playwork professionals are suitably qualified and competent in the specific roles which they perform
The Register is owned and operated by SkillsActive, the Sector Skills Council for Active Leisure, Learning and Well-being. The Register also receives support from the industry and has been developed through our Sector Guidance Group which has representation from many key playwork organisations.
