Everything you need to know about before and after school childcare

What is wraparound childcare?

Wraparound childcare is before and after school care for primary school aged children in England during term time, such as  and regular afterschool provision that runs until 6pm or later.

‘Wraparound care’ is most usually referred to as childcare that wraps around a child’s Nursery Education or school education. It is offered before or after the funded sessions and allows parents and carers to extend their children’s hours. It can also enable parents complete training or take part in other interests and activities, knowing their child is able to be cared for safely.

Wraparound care in nurseries refers to the extended services that nurseries provide outside of their core hours, offering additional care before and after the standard nursery day. This is particularly beneficial for working parents who need childcare beyond the usual nursery hours.

We offer wraparound care at both of our sites – Goodmayes and Fairlop for children aged 4 years to 11 years as -
